Thanks to those of you who came out to the LoneRider brewery last Tuesday for the tweetup. We met some fun folks from the Raleigh/Durham area, ate BBQ, did a little imbibing and had an overall great time.
If you missed the fun (or if you want to relive it), take a look at these links:
The photobooth photos from F8 Photo Studios may inspire a chuckle or two. Use the password Outlawf8 to see them.
We had only one entry into the video contest…but it’s pretty awesome. Thanks to Ginny Skalski (@ginnyskal) for convincing us all to give Peace(maker) a chance.
Our TwitPic winner was Rianna Mallard (@riannam). You can see her as Shotgun Betty here.
So, if you haven’t heard, we’re helping LoneRider Brewing Company host a tweetup at their brewery on April 13th. (Don’t have a ticket yet? Grab one quick — there are only two left!)
Contest details
To add to the fun, we’re having a contest leading up to the event. Here’s how you can enter:
Make a 12seconds.tv video or post a TwitPic answering the question, “What LoneRider beer are you?”
Tweet out your video or photo with the hashtag #imanoutlaw
Come to the tweetup to see if you’ve won!
Not sure what to do for your video or photo? For an example, see mine here. You don’t have to do what I did — do whatever your muse (a few LoneRider beers, obviously) leads you to. You can share why the beer you chose is your favorite, tell why you identify with that outlaw, get into character or whatever you think up.
What you really want to know: Prizes!
At the tweetup, we’ll announce two contest winners: one for TwitPic and one for video. Each winner will receive a growler of their choice of LoneRider beer as well as an iPod. The video winner will get an iPod touch and the photo winner will receive an iPod shuffle.
So, what are you waiting for? Impress us with your outlaw persona and maybe win some beer and an iPod!
Click Optimize is searching for a summer intern. We’re an Internet marketing firm here in Raleigh that assists our clients with web design, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, social media and web video. Rather than put you through the paces of a boring cover letter and shooting over a resume let’s do something different. You can do ONE of the following:
A. Create an informative video about yourself and send it via YouTube.
B. Send over an example of a web site, graphic design project or copy that you’ve developed/created/written. Tell us a little about each piece and what you think makes it great.
C. A local car dealership needs our help with SEO and SEM. Tell us what you would propose we do to help them in one page.
D. Write a one page description of what you’d like to accomplish in the marketing world and how working with us would help you.
Also, just to keep everything legit please send over your resume. If you couldn’t tell already we’re a young company and looking for folks who are eager to learn. You’ll have lots of chances to get your hands dirty in real projects. What you help us with will depend on the answers you provide in the interview process.
What can we do for you? We’re willing to provide a small travel stipend, college credit, a potential part-time paid position at the end of the internship and access to our network of contacts once you’re ready to search for a job. Looking forward to hearing more about you!
So in case you hadn’t heard we’re throwing a party with our friends over at LoneRider Brewing Company on March 12 from 7 pm – 9:30 pm at their brewery here in Raleigh. Haven’t RSVPed yet or need details? Everything you need can be found here: http://www.amiando.com/lonerider.html
1. So like any good Tweetup we now have a Twitter hashtag. Please include #lonerider whenever you tweet about the LoneRider Tweetup. New to hashtags on Twitter? Check this video out to LEARN MORE.
2. We now officially have a catering sponsor. Our friends at The Q Shack will be providing a variety of tasty appetizers. They’re picking the perfect matches for Shotgun Betty and DeadEye Jack as we speak. More to come on this.
3. We created a goofy video for LoneRider here in the office. More entries are on the way but you can preview the videos before we pick the winner on our YouTube Channel HERE.
We hope to see you all there! This event is free and open to the public. Please INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!
I woke up extra early with some other folks from around the Triangle on 1/21 to gather at Cafe Carolina in Cameron Village to discuss social media. It was great fun and I met some excellent people who are implementing tools like Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo and 12 Seconds in creative ways to enhance their businesses.
In particular, we had a great guest from Auction Direct who talked a little about how he leverages web video. Kipp Bodnar has a great little blog and video of Eric Miltsch speaking in more detail about how utilizing a few simple techniques he’s helping to drive his company’s revenue.
The Social Media Breakfast is put together by Kipp Bodnar and Angela Connor and the group meets monthly. You can catch the next event at the NC State Fairgrounds. Stay tuned to http://www.socialmediabreakfastraleigh.com for more info. I hope to see you there next month!
